I had pretty high expectation on this series. Hoped we would get a glimps on the AI-Wars and how Bene Gesserit, Mentat and Navigators came into play. We got a glimpse of the AI-Wars...like 30sec.....that's it. The Rest of the series evolves around some kind of boarding school / coming of age setup, wich looks cheap and brings no insight to anything in the Dune Universe. HBO simply tried to reporduce a copy of Game of Thrones but didn't want to spend the money to do it proper. Sometimes the shots of the Houses is 1:1 with game of thrones. Funny sidekick is the role of Travis Fimmel. Try to find the difference to his role in "Raised by wolfes" ;) I'm just sad, that this might kill a franchise that would have real potential. Up to know (3rd episode) each episode was significantly worse than the one before. If a second season is planed please sack ALL the writers and set developers and get some of the people that worked for "Andor".

There are times I hate having my worst reservations, affirmed. Dune Prophecy has all the trappings of success. A great cast, mixing talented newcomers and experienced veteran actors, excellent production values, a well known sci fi saga "Dune" but for me, that's where the positives end. As far as I can see this series is far removed from the conceptualisations and story, as espoused in the novels and the films. What you get instead, in my view, is revisionism mixed with woke-ism and a noticeably unpleasant dash, of what I would characterise as, misandry. In summary, who is this pitched at, I wonder? I will say too, drawing on a well known brand, series or novel(s) doesn't mean that what you are presented with is necessarily accurate or representative. That has never been more obvious than it is in entertainment, if you can still call it that, today. An emphatic pass from me.
