Chandon Pictures was an Australian comedy television series that premiered on Movie Extra on 10 November 2007 and ended on 7 May 2009.
The series featured sixteen episodes and was a spin-off from a Tropfest short film produced by Rob Carlton and Alex Weinress. It followed the misadventures of a struggling video production company called 'Chandon Pictures.' Rob Carlton, who plays the main character, is the younger cousin of Brian Carlton, The Spoonman talkback host on the Austereo Triple M network. This was revealed when The Spoonman interviewed Rob.
On 10 July 2008, it was announced that the series had won a second season and it had sold format rights to its distributor Lionsgate.
The first season premiered in the UK on Dave on 19 February 2009 in a 10pm slot. It was also aired in the US on the Sundance Channel.
Seasons
Season 1
Tom can't seem to get away from the usual wedding video β but this isn't the usual wedding. Sherbert and David are getting married. They are in love and have been since childhood. There's only one problem β they're cousins. Tom struggles to be compassionate about this project, but it could just be his next 'Bonzo: The Clown That Killed A Child' β a documentary about 'love against all odds β overcoming prejudice.' Of course, the family just wants a nice, proper video β one they can show their friends and family. The cousins aren't allowed to be married in the church, so it's to be a small affair, held at David's parents' house, beside the pool, where the happy couple first met when they were young. They have found a priest, Reverend Bevan who is willing to perform the service. Despite some awkward moments, the wedding goes ahead without a hitchβ¦ well, almost.
Season 2
Tom has returned from Hollywood, and the Chandon Pictures business is up and running but with Carmichael moving to Singapore, a new employee is welcomed to the fold, cousin Larraby. They are back on wedding videos but with a twist β this time they are asked to film a wedding for a couple who are renewing their vows to include a 'swingers' clause. Dion and Kelly are keen to explore the freedom of 'The Lifestyle' and the Chandon team are ready to capture all the action.
