Aoi prefers indoor hobbies and is afraid of heights, but her childhood friend Hinata loves to show off her passion for mountain climbing. As young children they once watched the sunrise from the top of a mountain, and now they've decided to take up mountain climbing in hopes of seeing that sunrise again. They have cooking battles with mountaineering gear, climb small hills in their neighborhood, and meet new mountaineering friends as they learn the ropes of the hobby. When will they finally see that sunrise again?

Aoi spends most of her time alone, but an old friend from middle school has arrived to make good on an old promise.

Aoi and Hinata put up a real tent in Hinata's yard! Afterwards, Kaede and Kokona join them and they cook a meal outside together. They camp in the tent overnight and get excited about climbing mountains soon.

Wanting to repay Hinata for the souvenir she got her from Mt. Fuji, Aoi invites her for a late night climb up Mt. Tsukuba to treat her to a night view at the top. Arriving at the top, Aoi resolves to once again take on Mt. Fuji.

Joined by fellow mountaineering enthusiasts, including the spirited Hinata Kuraue and the other climbers they’ve met on their journey to great heights, Aoi and friends tackle tough challenges and conquer new summits while they embark on adventures throughout the mountain ranges of Japan.
