Walt Disney Productions has produced an anthology television series under several different titles since 1954. The original version of the series premiered on ABC, Wednesday night, October 27, 1954. The show, which was hosted by Walt Disney until his death and then from 1996 to 2002 by then-CEO Michael Eisner (with one-off hosts or no hosts during other periods) has since aired continually as either a weekly program or an irregular series of specials on several networks and streaming services, most recently on ABC and Disney+. The show is the second longest showing prime-time program on American television, behind its rival, Hallmark Hall of Fame. However, Hallmark Hall of Fame was a weekly program only during its first five seasons, while Disney remained a weekly program for more than forty years.

Season 1
Walt Disney introduces the show that will be a Sunday-night tradition for over 40 years, Disneyland. In this episode, he introduces upcoming season previews, plus movies that are to be coming out soon. The second half of the show is all about Mickey Mouse, Disney's first creation.
Season 2
This is an airing of the beloved 1941 animated feature, edited to run in the allotted time slot.
Mrs. Jumbo, a circus elephant receives a baby with large ears. The other elephants ostracize him, and his mother is locked up for attacking a heckling human. As Dumbo, the mocking nickname for the baby elephant given to him, finds himself without any friends, an ambitious mouse named Timothy befriends him and helps him overcome his problem.

Walt Disney hosts a look at his plans for a brand new documentary on Antarctica.
Season 4
Disneyland began its 4th season on the air with a gala, all-star ""special"", essentially designed to promote all 3 of Disney's network TV series. Pressured by his cartoon creations and the latest crop of Mouseketeers to tell them what's in store for the 1957-58 season, host Walt Disney offers tantalizing glimpses of the new weekly adventure show Zorro, the Disneyland miniseries The Saga of Andy Burnett (with Jerome Courtland in the title role) and the newest installments of such Mickey Mouse Club serials as ""Spin and Marty."" The remainder of the 4th Anniversary Show is an uncut presentation of the ""Peter and the Wolf"" segement from the 1946 animated feature Make Mine Music.

Wherever this man went--there was trouble. Death stalked him at every turn. Elfego Baca is "The man who couldn't be killed!" Incredible...but every astounding incident actually happened.

Moochie's trying to make up for being "Small Fry" by putting his whole heart into catching for his Little League Team. He even finds a new field for his league when the old one's destroyed. He even ropes his best friend's dad into the league. But when Moochie might make the All Star team, the family's vacation plans might be ruined.

Now moved to NBC, Walt Disney starts broadcasting his show in color. He talks about the black-and-white days of the movies and the arrival of Technicolor. In the second half of this episode, Donald Duck travels through a land of mathematical wonders.

A charming, TV version of 1960 featurette, tells a tale in the traditional Disney vein, this animal-filled children's story is about a little lost puppy who was mothered by and adopted into an extended family of raccoons. Naturally, the dog bonds with the furry masked bandits and even when the canine ends up back in the care of his real owner, he cannot forget his adopted family. His sentiments are particularly relevant when he finds himself at the head of a raccoon-hunt.

This 1963 theatrical short subject tells the story of a bear in Yellowstone Park who is searching for her two lost cubs.

This installment is the Hopi Indian legend of a young boy banished from his tribe for a year for freeing a sacrificial eagle. He wanders the desert living amongst the animals and learning to survive.

Amos and Theodore the two bumbling outlaw wannabees from The Apple Dumpling Gang are back. They are trying to make it on their own. When they arrive at the town they are going to, all sorts of things go awry. They accidentally subdue the town's legendary lawman, Wooly Bill Hitchcock thus enraging him into tracking them down. They also are accused of bank robbery. And they ""enlist"" in the army, and burn down the fort. Amid all this the army is beseiged by someone stealing their supplies.

When the Burkes loose their jobs in New York, they have to move to Arizona, where Tom has an job-offer in the management of a small company for children's clothing. Unfortunately Tom's new boss Sirus Lovelin turns out to be extremely fond of the traditional American family and automatically assumes Amanda to be housewife and mother - but the Burkes don't even have children! To not offend him, they ""hire"" two kids they met prowling the streets. When they turn out witty, but nasty and impertinent, the Burkes want to rid themselves of them, but are entangled already too deeply in their lie...

This is an airing of the 1977 musical, in which an orphaned boy and his only friend, an animated green dragon named Elliott, escape from the abusive family who took him in as a farm hand and cause trouble in a small fishing village in Maine.
Season 32
Natty Gann (played by Meredith Salenger) is a twelve year old Depression era girl whose single-parent father leaves her behind in Chicago while he goes to Washington State to look for work in the timber industry. Natty runs away from the guardian she was left with to follow Dad. She befriends and is befriended by a wolf that has been abused in dog fights, hops a freight train west, and is presumed dead when her wallet is found after the train crashes. Dad gets bitter and endangers himself in his new job. Meanwhile Natty has a series of adventures and mis- adventures in various farmhouses, police stations, hobo camps, reform schools, and boxcars.

Season 34
After attending Rodgers 30th high school reunion,One of his former classmates, now a tv therapist, contacts Rodger and asks him to be on his show. Rodger dosn't want any part of it, but after barbara and the kids beg him to, he gives in.
