Pöysti, Neponen and Routalempi are solving case Rutanen, who is barricaded himself in his house and threatens to cut himself, even when he doesn't have a knife. The same happens next day, except now he has dynamite and family as hostage. Pöysti tells Pekka to shoot the house with a bazooka when the house is empty, but the family dog, Marsalkka, runs back inside and dies. St. Petersburg orphan dog support association gets mad to Police and Pöysti, and demands justice for Marsalkka.

Pöysti and Neponen are trying to locate the hidden loot from an old bank robbery. The freshly out of prison culprit seems to be a hard nut to crack. Meanwhile Repomies is battling with his own self image.

The people lose their forgotten, but beloved singer, Ilari "Jortsu" Heikkinen. Pöysti blurts publicly that he doesn't feel sad because of Jortsu's passing and causes a scandal.
