Some recently made unemployed factory workers need Mack's help in suing Greg for wrongful termination of contracts. Greg had fired everyone regardless of the written agreement he signed promising not to close the factory after buying it from Gary. The agreement is hidden in a box somewhere in the Ewing warehouse. Abby informs Karen and Val that she has decided to move to Malibu. Her plans come to a halt through after the IRS freezes all of her assets for failure to pay some back taxes. Abby is able to convince Greg to give her the money she needs if she steals the agreement from the Ewing warehouse. Greg is surprised to see Anne at the ranch after she returns from Paris. Mack and Karen are questioned by Meg about her real biological father. Mack ends up lying to her when he decides not to tell her about Greg. Val, now a best-selling author, shares her news with Gary that a major film studio is going to film a movie based on her latest novel. Clay McKinney is assigned to be her writing partner. Gary is surprised when Kate shows up to see him with some very disturbing news.
