Season 1
The auditions begin!
Season 2
The top 50 began with a barbecue challenge, with the freedom to cook whatever they wanted. The 10 worst performers were sent into a pavlova pressure test led by Donna Hay. The 5 contestants who produced the worst pavlovas were eliminated from the competition.
Season 3
Thousands applied, but only 50 lucky people made it to the first leg of MasterChef. An exciting start with a boat ride to Cockatoo Island and a massive Mystery Box Challenge awaiting them. Featuring the most popular supermarket ingredients, the Top 50 had to cook a dish to get them to the next round. The ten with the least impressive dishes would have to do an Adriano Zumbo challenge.

The personality is on the plate and the food is the star of the show. Network Ten's smash hit series MasterChef returns tonight and promises to excite, thrill and entertain like never before!
Season 5
22 brand new contestants are introduced as they begin their dream to become Australia's next MasterChef.
Season 6
MasterChef Australia returns with the best group of home cooks the competition has ever seen. In the first episode, our potential contestants are given one hour to cook their best dish and secure their spot in the top 24.
Season 7
Season Premiere. With the culinary bar set high in 2014, the heat will be on as MasterChef Australia returns for 2015. Home cooks from around the country begin the battle for the title of Australia's next MasterChef.
Season 8
MasterChef Australia returns with the best group of home cooks the competition has ever seen. In the first of three judges' auditions, our amateur cooks are given one hour to cook their best dish.
Season 9
The heat is on. A fresh group of home cooks from around the country will eagerly tackle challenges that will see one of them take home the title and $250,000.
Season 10
The amateur cooks are given one hour to recreate their signature dish for the first of the two judges' auditions. The judges introduce the nine past winners of the program, who are there to cheer them on.
Season 11
Each hopeful cook has 60 minutes to produce their dish. If the judges like the dish, they're through to the next stage. If not, sadly, they're heading home.

Judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen are back in the MasterChef Australia kitchen, ready to introduce the next generation of exceptional home cooks. 2021 will be seasoned to perfection with some of the world’s most recognisable and beloved chefs including Nigella Lawson, Yotam Ottolenghi, Heston Blumenthal, Massimo Bottura and Clare Smyth - plus homegrown sensations including Curtis Stone, Kirsten Tibballs, Darren Purchese, Alla Wolf-Tasker, Scott Pickett, Poh Ling Yeow, Callum Hann and Reynold Poernomo, all set to challenge the top 24 contestants.

Season 14
Jock Zonfrillo, Andy Allen and Melissa Leong return to judge Season 14 of MasterChef Australia: Fans & Favourites.
Original champion Julie Goodwin leads the 12 returning cooks who compete alongside 12 newcomers (and no auditions). The MasterChef kitchen also once again plays host to chefs from Australia and overseas, including Adriano Zumbo, Shannon Bennet, Curtis Stone, Reynold Poernomo, Clare Smyth, Alla Wolf-Tasker, Josh Niland and Maggie Beer.
Season 15
Returning for its 15th season, MasterChef Australia is back to deliver a series full of twists and turns with Secrets & Surprises.
Originally scheduled to premiere 1 May 2023, the series was postponed due to the sudden passing of judge Jock Zonfrillo the night before.
Season 16
This season feature 4 judges. Andy Allen, Sofia Levin, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Poh Ling Yeow. The number of contestants increased from 18 to 22. Like the previous 2 seasons, the season omitted the broadcast of the audition stage. Only one Immunity Pin is up for grabs this season.
Season 17
The seventeenth series of the Australian television cooking show MasterChef Australia was announced on 16 September 2024. The series features the same four judges as series 16, namely series 4 winner Andy Allen, food writer Sofia Levin, French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and series 1 runner-up Poh Ling Yeow. Similar to series 12, the 2025 series features a Back to Win concept, with 24 contestants from previous seasons returning for a chance to win the title.
