Four turtles fall into the sewers and are befriended by Hamato Yoshi a Japanese man sent to New York who was forced to live in the sewers. One day he sees a strange green glow which transforms the four turtles into human-like creatures. Hamato (now Master Splinter) changes into a giant rat from the green glow and teaches the turtles the skills of the ninja as they team up with news reporter April O'Neil to battle against Yoshi's arch enemy Shredder and Krang, an alien warlord from Dimension X.

Season 1
April O'Neil, ace reporter for Channel 6, investigates recent break-ins, allegedly by Ninjas, which have resulted in the thefts of numerous technologies. A chance encounter with a gang of thieves soon leads her to a bigger story when she is saved from the criminals by four Ninja trained, mutated Turtles.
Season 2
Just when the Turtles believe themselves rid of Shredder, tin-grin is able to persuade Krang to return him to Earth.
Season 3
The Turtles learn the cost of slacking off when Splinter is badly hurt during a confrontation with Shredder.
Season 4
With the Technodrome in serious need for new equipment, Bebop and Rocksteady are sent to Earth, disguised in human form, to capture the Channel 6 building and return it to Dimension X.
Season 5
In Krang's latest scheme, Rocksteady and Bebop, dressed as Easter bunnies, are blasting people with a Docilizer Ray and turning them into timid, rabbit-like people.
Season 6
Krang summons General Tragg from the Dimension X to keep the Turtles busy while Shredder places a remote control transmitter upon a rocket ship preparing to launch a satellite with a new super laser.
Season 7
The Turtles and Splinter win a trip to Europe, but wind up riding in a crate with the Turtle Van. Meanwhile, Krang devises a giant electromagnet to pull the Technodrome free from an asteroid.
Season 8
Shredder & Krang are still loose on Earth, but without the resources of the Technodrome, they plan to steal equipment from the abandoned Hall of Science at the World Fair. Krang's former weapons engineer, Drakus, using the guise of Beserko, also shows up to cause trouble.
Season 9
Lord Dregg rises to villainy to battles the Turtles.
Season 10
While the Turtles work on using fragments of the Vortex Crystal to stabilize their mutations, Lord Dregg plans to use the fragments to create another Vortex Crystal to power his Vortex Transporter.
