Season 1
Stonemason Andrew Knightley is pushed under a London Underground train during the morning rush hour. DI Max Arnold and his partner, DS Priya Shamsie, together build a picture of a lonely, devout, and troubled man who believed a spirit was leaving him vengeful Biblical messages. But the killer is flesh and blood, and a more earthly explanation may be found in the truth of Knightley's life.
Season 2
When an art gallery manager is strangled during the robbery of an exhibition, it appears he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But as the team delve into the elite world of Chelsea's art scene, Max soon wonders if the victim was an accomplice.
Season 3
Season 3 finds Max and Layla investigating the discovery of an ex-soldier’s body in an allotment, the brutal murder of an antiques dealer, and the mysterious case of a climate scientist found dead in a stolen car. But, while Max remains adept at solving crimes, things are far from straightforward at home. After all their ups and downs, Max and his estranged wife, Astrid are now trying couples therapy in a bid to revive their relationship and unpack where it all went wrong for them.
Cast
User Reviews
Fairly mediocre crime drama. Each episode follows the same formula of the detectives being led from one witness/suspect to the next, being told their story without much input, which leads to the next witness/suspect, until eventually they catch the right person.
