Ji Yunhe possesses the rare ability to tame demons, but she is confined to the Demon Valley by strict imperial laws. Her life takes an unexpected turn when Chang Yi, a merman, is brought to her by a cruel princess. The princess orders Yunhe to give Chang Yi human speech and legs, forcing him to pledge loyalty. As Yunhe grows sympathetic toward the merman and falls for him, she longs to set him free. But helping him may come at a great cost, putting both their lives in danger.

Season 1
Ji Yun He is a spirit master with great spirit-taming skills. Her compassion for these spirits leads her to offend Envoy Zhang, who is a favored servant of Fairy Shun De. In order to seek revenge, he brings a merman to Wanhua Valley, and Fairy Shun De makes unreasonable demands for taming him. Lin Hao Qing accepts this task, but Ji Yun He volunteers to participate as well.
Season 2
Chang Yi confines Yun He on Huxin Island, but his actions confuse everyone as he does not torture her like he vowed to. Qing Yao's maid sees Yun He use Qing Shu's red Fox Fire, which makes Qing Yao and Qi Feng suspect that Yun He harmed their aunt. Lin Hao Qing tries to steal the antidote from Immortal Master and ends up discovering his secret chamber.

Overall a good show if you enjoy "High Fantasy" where every character has magical powers and are basically gods. The set designs are beautiful. Acting is kind of all over the place but all the characters are likeable so no complaints there. First season is definitely worth watching.
The biggest issue is the 2nd season. The story just kind of devolves into nonsense and the pacing is terrible. Very heavy romance drags the show to a crawl. logically nothing really makes sense except person with magical powers needs more magical powers. Definitely a disappointment compared to the first season.
